Being in Barcelona was a true DREAM! October is great weather to be in the city, not too warm, not cold either. I stayed in Diagonal Mar, at the Princess Hotel. (Yes, I read "princess" on the title and was like, BOOK IT! That and the patio city line view.)
I highly recommend you get a pass to the bus tour, and scout the different "colonias" that way. You really don't need to take a taxi anywhere, and can just travel using those tourist bus lines or the trains. It also saves you money. But in the evenings, I did opt for a taxi, for safety.
So Barcelona is a very walk-able city. I wore short heel black booties almost every day. Temperatures were chill so jacket and scarf every day too. Because it's autumn, opt to wear darker lip color during the day, like this deep burgundy.
Trip to FC Barcelona Game. Yes, Messi. <3
Well he was injured and didn't play at this game. But still an AMAZING experience, please schedule yourself with tickets to a game if you're in town for one. So I took the train to the stadium and literally packed like sardines to the game and back. The entire city and their mom were at the game. I just wore a jersey and jeans, and a moto jacket. Please wear sneakers to a soccer game in any country and leave your heels at home. I never understand why there is always at least one woman, at a soccer game, wearing heels...
NIGHT OUT: SPANISH FLAMENCO
Barcelona is so rich in culture. I planned one night to see an authentic Flamenco performance and it did not disappoint! I went to a late night show in Las Ramblas, which is a dangerous area after hours. You'll find an entire strip of bars and clubs open late. This Flamenco performance room was gorgeously vintage, and located in what seemed like a cellar, underground a vintage hotel. The music was amazing and the dancing was incredible. Usually it's one person singing about the pain of a love, then break in to foot stomps and dance. Very romantic overall! So here is my style pic for the night:
I had the BEST time in Barcelona! So much to tell you that I could not take enough time to post on this blog. The food is DELICIOUS! The architecture is amazing. I truly enjoyed my birthday there, such a dream come true. Turning 30 felt and looked so good! ;) If you are thinking of taking a trip to Europe soon, consider Barcelona!
