Sheets to Streets: Patterns

Arisbet Cantu

Have you ever been shopping for something and see a very unique or interesting pattern on a blouse, a pair of pants, or a dress and think, "I love it!" ...but then you try it on and it looked better on the rack. Patterns can be tricky. Here is a simple tip I've used to resolve the pattern issue. I LOVE unique patterns and try to blend them in when I can.

TRIP TO THE DALLAS MUSEUM OF ART

Our Cartagena Wallet is a very spacious wallet with a gorgeous floral print (click to buy yours before it's gone!) Here, I chose a flirty leather skirt with matching leather heels and a solid red top. I'm also wearing our Modern Roma Necklace, which has a long, faux leather tassel that matches perfectly. The focus piece is the pattern wallet. I want to show off the pattern, so I put together the outfit to match the wallet. Normally we just chose a wallet that matches the outfit.

This is a very simple way to style with patterns and not feel like you can't wear them. So when you're out and about, look for wallets, handbags, scarves or belts with unique patterns you like, and fit a solid outfit to match. I'll be sure to post more about patterns, especially on mixing and matching them.

If you're ever in town, stop by the Dallas Museum of Art! You'll enjoy the amazing exhibitions and the serene environment around it. Click here to view the current exhibitions
